What is the first step that I should take to get more information?
- Investigate this website thoroughly. Check out some of the unique equipment and technology we offer on the Equipment & Technology page, as well as photos and videos of progress on the Patient Testimonials page.
- Next, schedule a tour! Free private tours are given to prospective patients and their families. These are done by appointment only and can be requested by filling out our Request a Tour form.
What makes VIP NeuroRehabilitation right for me? Am I a candidate for your program?
- VIP NeuroRehabilitation is not right for everyone. A strong desire and commitment to improve is required. We are not a passive facility. You will be an active participant. We do not except patients on a ventilator. Patients should be able to respond to positive reinforcement. Patients should not be prone to pathological fractures. Patients should be medically cleared for physical activity and weight bearing.
What does a typical session include at VIP?
- Each session is customized per patient and includes activities to help the patient achieve his or her individual goals. The patient will work one-on-one with a Physical Therapist for a large part of the daily session. They will also utilize our state-of-the-art equipment in our facility which you can view on our Equipment & Technology page.
What can I expect during my first session with VIP?
- At the first session, patients will complete a medical history and the PT will do a physical therapy evaluation. The therapist and the family will set individual goals for the patient. We will measure the patient for the Lokomat and may do the first session of walking on the Lokomat.
What should patients bring and wear to sessions?
- Patients should bring their own orthotics, walkers and assistive devices. Bring therasuits if they are used.
- Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes for exercise, no jeans. Long cotton pants, like sweatpants or pajama pants are best for the Lokomat. If the patient wears solid ankle foot orthoses with no hinge at the ankle, then they will need a second pair of sneakers to wear without orthotics for Lokomat training.
Finances will be arranged at this time and billing is a per hour fee. No insurance will be billed.
