VIP is honored to award a VIP Scholarship to Erik, an active duty Chief Petty Officer in the Navy.
Erik suffered a mid-thoracic spinal cord injury in a car accident on September 14, 2015. He has come to VIP to build muscle below his level of injury and really push himself to gain all the function he can. Erik has served our country for 19 years and plans to retire after 20 years of service. His two year old daughter is the love of his life and he enjoys the Denver Broncos, Brazilian Jujitsu and collecting comic books. Erik works extremely hard every therapy session and we are honored to have him! Thank you for your service Erik! If you are interested in supporting our injured military and veterans, please visit the VIP Scholarship Program page for additional details. Many of our patients post their VIP workouts on Instagram and we want to highlight the incredible work they are doing!

VIP is proud to report that we have received a $4,000 grant from the Sundt Foundation to support the VIP Scholarship Program. With this generous grant, VIP will be able to give another 40 hours of free therapy through our scholarship program! Sundt has been dedicated to improving the communities where it operates. In 1999, Sundt expanded this effort by creating the Sundt Foundation, a separate non-profit organization focused on the needs of disadvantaged children and adults. The Foundation receives most of its funding through employee contributions, which are matched by the company. The Foundation also supports volunteer efforts by employees to collect food for disadvantaged families, repair homes, and raise money through fundraising events. To date, they have provided over $7.7 million in aid to community organizations in Arizona, California, and Texas. VIP is proud to share that the 2017 VIP Scholarship Program grant is already being put to good use. We would like to welcome our newest scholarship patient, Hannah and her family, to VIP! Hannah was born with Cerebral Palsy and has the goal to walk without the use of a walker or assistance. As you can see she is a joy to work with and is loving the Lokomat already. Hannah also really enjoys the rock wall at VIP! Hannah comes from a military family and her father has served in the Navy for over 18 years. We are thankful for his service to our country and honored to be able to assist this military family who have given so much to keep us safe and free. VIP is excited to be part of Hannah's story and looking forward to seeing all the progress she will make! |
