VIP is excited to share news of an outside fundraiser, Charbo's Charge, that is taking place in August 2018! Mike Charbonnet, father to David Charbonnet-VIP's President, is riding his bike from San Francisco to San Diego to raise support for VIP. You can follow Mike's journey on Facebook and Instagram. In August 2018, Mike Charbonnet will be riding from San Francisco to San Diego, 650+ miles down the Pacific Coast, to raise support for a non-profit near to Mike's heart, VIP NeuroRehabiliation Center (VIP). This center has greatly impacted his family since his son became a patient after a parachuting accident in 2011 which left him paralyzed.

Congrats and thank you to all who participated! We are very thankful for each of our patients and honored to be a part of the journey! VIP is excited to welcome our newest scholarship recipient, Victor! Victor was in his last semester of college when he suffered a traumatic brain injury from a car accident about 14 months ago. He has come to VIP to work on his mobility and improve his cognitive skills. Victor's family is extremely thankful for the support of the VIP Scholarship Program and excited to see the improvement to come! Victor's scholarship was made possible by the Integra Foundation and various individual donors to the VIP Scholarship Program! VIP would like to take a moment to highlight our amazing lead Physical Therapist, Melanie Wrench, PT, MTP! Melanie joined the VIP Team in late 2015 and it is safe to say she has been an integral part of all the great things happening at VIP. Her experience and knowledge have been instrumental in the improvements that patients have gained. Additionally, Melanie leads our therapy staff, interns, and volunteers with professionalism and a true passion for neuro rehabilitation. Thank you for all you do Melanie!!! Melanie, originally from San Diego, received her undergraduate degree from The University of California at Santa Barbara and her Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St Augustine in Florida. She has 15 years of clinical experience treating patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions and orthopedic injuries. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1998 and was recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) for 10 years. Melanie uses an eclectic mix of manual therapy techniques and a functionally based approach to therapeutic exercise to help maximize her patient’s recovery. Her goal is to always make therapy a fun and enjoyable experience. Melanie enjoys family time with her husband and daughters. Together, they enjoy swimming, hiking, traveling, going to the beach, and taking advantage of all that living in San Diego has to offer. |
