VIP is proud to share about one of our latest scholarship patients, Keith! Keith was refereed to VIP by Living Spinal and we are privileged to have him join us. Keith suffered a spinal cord injury in a motorcycle accident, 10 years ago, while volunteering in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Since then, he has not slowed down! He enjoys playing sports, such as tennis and lacrosse. Keith was the SD Wheelchair Tennis Director and builds furniture and decor for a living. He still enjoys building motorcycles and rides his trike (adapted motorcycle) daily. Keith is most excited about getting to work on the Lokomat! He has done many years of therapy, but has not had the opportunity to work on this piece of equipment, and as you can tell by the smile, he is loving it! Thank you to all those who contribute to the VIP and make the VIP Scholarship Program possible. 10% of all our donations go directly to this program, so everyone plays a part!

We look forward to seeing you there! With about a month before we celebrate our 2nd Annual VIP Rock & Roll Fundraiser, we wanted to share a little bit of what therapy at VIP means to some of our patients. We hope you enjoy the video and will join us on October 12th to support VIP! Thanks to a generous donation, VIP has a new piece of equipment, the LifeWalker Upright, for our patients to use during therapy sessions! The LifeWalker Upright is different than a traditional walker because it is designed with adjustable armrests and handles that allow the patient to stand within the apparatus compared to standing behind a traditional walker. Also, the LifeWalker Upright’s design promotes upright postural alignment with standing and walking compared to a traditional walker which promotes a rounded posture. We hope our patients enjoy this valuable piece of equipment and the new exercises it allows! With the help from our friends at Industry Threadworks, VIP is excited to present our newest VIP T-Shirts!!! T-Shirts are available by request after a $20 donation and only while supplies last. Donations can be made in person at VIP, by mail or PayPal. Click here for details! |
