VIP is honored to have the support of the Quad Foundation for one of our newest patients, Yi. Yi is a student at UCSD, working to achieve his PhD in Physics. He dreams to become a teacher after graduation and enjoys being a TA, which he has done for 5 years. Yi is also working on this thesis research and expects to graduate 2019/2020. In January 2017, Yi suffered a spinal cord injury while skiing. He attended Sharp for acute rehabilitation earlier this year and now has joined VIP for continued therapy. Yi gives his all each and every day at therapy. The support of the Quad Foundation will make a huge difference to Yi and his family as his parents left their jobs and moved to San Diego to help him recover. If you would like to support Yi as well, please contact us at [email protected]. UPDATE (6/5/2017) VIP is proud to update that the Integra Foundation has also supplied a scholarship for Yi to continue therapy! We are thankful to be supported by a generous community in San Diego who simply wants to help the disabled in San Diego. UPDATE (7/31/2017) VIP is proud to report that the David C. Copley Foundation has also supplied a scholarship for Yi to continue therapy at VIP! It is amazing to see all those who have supported Yi and his journey to recovery.

We are proud to welcome our newest scholarship recipient, Irving, to VIP NeuroRehab! Irving served in the U.S. Army and we are thankful for his years of service. He grew up in Boston, attended Georgetown Law School and became a U.S. Attorney, appointed by President Nixon. He later became District Attorney in Ventura County. At the age of 67, Irving suffered a stroke and is now experiencing right side paralysis and expressive aphasia. He has come to VIP to gain stability and strength through exercise. Irving is a hard worker and committed to improving! We look forward to seeing his progress. VIP is honored to have received a $5,000 grant from the David C. Copley Foundation
early this month for the VIP Scholarship Program. The David C. Copley Foundation's mission to carry on the Copley family’s legacy of giving by funding nonprofit organizations making a difference in the areas of human services, military and military veterans, youth development, medical and medical research, especially those programs and services improving the life or opportunities of the under-served in the San Diego area, aligns closely to what VIP is all about and we are proud to have their support! If would also like to support this program or are in need of a scholarship, please visit VIP Scholarship Program for an application. |
